Automatic Door Opening System Using IR Sensors Electronics Project Report

This is a good electronics project report on Automatic Door Opening Systems using IR Sensors which is used to automate door opening. Some of the main components required for this project are the power supply, ATMEL (AT89S52) Microcontroller, stepper motor & IR sensors. This report starts with an introduction to embedded systems.

In this system whenever the infrared sensor senses the obstacle and the signal is sent to the microcontroller. Then the microcontroller sent the signal to the stepper motor as in which the door is opened.

The components used in this project include:

ATMEL (AT89S52) Microcontroller: This microcontroller is responsible for controlling the system and executing the required algorithms.

Stepper Motor: The stepper motor is used to open and close the door.

IR Sensors: Two IR sensors are used in this project, one at the entrance and one at the exit of the door. When a person comes in front of the entrance sensor, the door opens, and when the person reaches the exit sensor, the door closes.

Power Supply: The power supply is used to provide power to all the components of the system.

The above image shows the block diagram of an IR door opening system. The main objective of this project is to develop an automatic door-opening system using IR sensors that will reduce the need for manual labor.

The system works as follows:

1. When a person comes in front of the entrance sensor, the sensor detects the presence of the person and sends a signal to the microcontroller.

2. The microcontroller receives the signal and executes the code to open the door. The microcontroller controls the stepper motor to rotate in a specific direction, opening the door.

3. When the person reaches the exit sensor, the sensor detects the presence of the person and sends a signal to the microcontroller.

4. The microcontroller receives the signal and executes the code to close the door. The microcontroller controls the stepper motor to rotate in the opposite direction, closing the door.
