This paper presents a universal engineering model, which can be used to formulate both natural and forced cooling towers. By using fundamental laws of mass and energy balance Compared with the existing models, the new model has two main advantages:
1) The cooling tower consists both natural and forced cooling tower in one.
2) There is no iterative computation required and results are compared with existing models.
3) The basic aim of this experimental setup is to get the higher efficiency of cooling tower so all possible and new ideas are applied here.
Although the model is simple, the results are very accurate. Application examples are given to compare the proposed model with commonly used models. this work on the cooling tower is proposed to show the working of a natural cooling tower and to improve the performance of mini cooling tower.
Spray, cooling fan a and plates used are the most effective terms used in this project and they also played their role in a very good way. All data is taken by our own and give us a satisfactory situation.
The cooling tower is the name of the experiment that we are doing in the laboratory. The main aim is to contemplate the working of the cooling tower and to create an experimental setup for a mini cooling tower and also improve the performance of cooling tower.
In this experiment, warm water is taken in direct contact with dry air and the heat is transferred from water to air and the outgoing water temperature is reduced. A cooling tower is a heat rejection device, which extracts heat to the atmosphere through the cooling of a water stream to a lower temperature. Open pond or by the spray pond technique in which it is dispersed in spray form and then collected in a large, open pond.
Cooling towers are commonly used to dissipate heat from heat sources to heat sink (ambient environment). Their applications are typically in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and power generators, etc.
Cooling tower simply a heat transfer device that is used to take heat from hot water into the air and cool it down, the basic aim is to get higher temp difference.
This project on "fabrication and improvement in performance of mini cooling tower" consist the quality ob not only the natural as well as qualities of a forced cooling tower. Natural air is always cooling the water and when we apply the fan for the cooling purpose it also produces the combined effect of the forced cooling tower. In this project, the tower is open like a natural cooling tower and fans are used same as a mechanical cooling tower. This combined effect gives it the higher temp difference.
