Project on CellPhone Detector

Cell phone detector or mobile sensor is a very helpful project in sensing presence of switch-on mobile within range of 1.5 meters. Its small size makes it handy and it easily occupy space in your pocket. The best use of this cellphone detector is in examination hall, meeting rooms etc. The circuit of the cell phone detector can easily know the signals of the incoming and outgoing calls, SMS and video transmission and detect them and alert the person through buzzer and work even if the mobile phone is kept in the silent mode. You can also Subscribe to FINAL YEAR PROJECT'S by Email for more such projects and seminar.

Circuit diagram CellPhone Detector

We know that cell phones uses radio frequency with a wavelength of 30cm at 872 to 2170 MHz. That is the signal is high frequency with huge energy. When the cell phone is ON, it send the signal in the form of sine wave which passes through the space. The encoded audio/video signal contains electro-magnetic radiation which is picked up by the receiver in the base station. Mobile phone system is referred to as “Cellular Telephone system” because the coverage area is divided into “cells” each of which has a base station. The transmitter power of the modern 2G antenna in the base station is 20-100 watts.

Recommended Project: GSM based Device Controlling System

In this project ordinary LC circuits are used to sense low frequency radiation in the amplitude and frequency modulation bands. The tuned tank circuit having a coil and a variable capacitor receives the signal from the carrier wave. But such LC circuits cannot detect high frequency waves near the microwave region. Hence in the circuit, a capacitor is used to detect RF from mobile phone considering that, a capacitor can store energy even from an outside source and oscillate like LC circuit.

This is the mini project idea for electronics stream and hobbyist can also make this project. This report contains complete component list and their working, circuit diagram (as shown above), hardware implementation, future scope, advantages etc.
