Inhibit the Activity of Allium Sativa (Garlic) and Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) against Blastomyces Dermatidis

This is the Biotechnology final year report to study the inhibition activity of Allium sativa (garlic) and Curcuma longa (turmeric) against Blastomyces dermatidis. This report will show the Garlic and Turmeric use against Blastomyces dermatidis which is a virus and can cause various lung infections. This is project shows anti-fungal activity of Garlic and Turmeric. You can also Subscribe to FINAL YEAR PROJECT'S by Email for more such projects and seminar.

Herbal Medicine are very useful and despite of their low cost they have tremendous benefits and help in curing many diseases. Garlic and Turmeric which care our daily using things have many properties which fights against diseases and this study shows same.

Blastomyces dermatitidis is a dimorphic fungus which means it has two forms. At room temperature it takes the mycelia form and at 37oC, the mycelium transforms to a large yeast (8-15 um) with characteristic thick cell walls and broad-based buds.

Recommended Project: Biotechnology Project on Microbial Quality Control

Inhaling Blastomyces dermatitidis spores can cause blast mycosis (Gilchrist's disease, Chicago disease, or Namekagon River Fever). The fungus enters the body through the lungs and there converts to yeast form, triggering the hosts inflammatory response at the site of infection. Yeast that are not phagocytised and cleared by the host is able to spread via blood or lymphatic to other sites in the body where the infection starts.

Later on this report pure colonies were developed, a culture broth is prepared from it. When the testing is to be done, the colonies are restreaked or are spread in to Mueller-Hinton Agar plates and anti-fungal susceptibility test was done. Thanks to the author of this project and use this report only for your reference and study work.
