Robot Navigation Using Optical Odometry ECE Project Report

This is a good Electronics and Communication final year project report on "Robot navigation using optical Odometry". Optical odometry is one in which the distance traveled is measured by optical means. Optical mouse consists of a single LED (Light Emitting Diode) which it bounces the light off the surface. It also has a very small camera which takes pictures of the surface. It scans the surface 1500 times a second. The digital signal processor receives the images that have been taken from the camera and analyses them for differences. You can also Subscribe to FINAL YEAR PROJECT'S by Email for more such projects and seminar.

The above image shows the actual position of receiver and transmitter in this navigation robot. This method of optical odometry can be successfully used for robot navigation. It provides a cost effective alternative for compass and stepper motor based navigation. It is a very cheap final year project which cost around Rs.900. Use it for your reference and study work.
